Tivoli in Copenhagen played an important part in the creation of two of

Ferm Livings wallpaper designs - Tiny Train and Ferris.

Bambi by Onszelf

I have quite a love for deer. The movie 'Bambi' made me howl (yes not just cry but hide under my chair & sob) when I was four. This is a story that after 36 years, my mother still cannot understand my over reaction to such a placid film.

I love their 'super cuteness' (as my son calls it) they are such a divine animal, and very VERY TASTY!

My father in law, Mr Griffin, hunts these animals in Fiordland in New Zealand and I have to say he has an impressive collection of heads and even more impressive are his multitude of hunting stories which are strangely addictive.

So here is to this beautiful animal and all the joy it brings to the conisour who loves a divine piece of meat, the dedicated hunter, the interior designer and of course, the animal lover.

Origami for kids

The Japanese word "origami" is a compound of two smaller Japanese words: "ori", meaning to fold, and "kami", meaning paper.

The founder of Kindergartens, Friedrich Fröbel, recognised that paper cutting and folding was a good teaching aid for childrens development in the early 19th century.

As the kindergarten system spread throughout Europe and into the wider world, it brought with it the small colored squares that we know of today as origami paper.

Now Ingvi and Tinna from Dottir & Sonur have designed this delightfully bright & mildly retro wallpaper

celebrating the age-old craft.

available from Just Kids Wallpaper

The Origami Club has a huge selection of Origami instructions which you can print out to keep your little one (and yourself) entertained for hours.

Here are a couple...

Both these diagrams are from the Origami Club

World War II, helping to win the Battle of Britain.

Rachel Powell's Woodstock Wallpaper

UK's print designer Rachel Powell has launched her debut wallpaper collection at One Year On as part

of a select group of young designers in July 2012.

Inspired by mid century design and life in the great British countryside;

Her ‘Woodstock’ and ‘Prudence’ designs create a perfect balance between the style and personality of

retro print and the simplistic nature of rural living. Allowing bold print to live in harmony with the

brightest and quietest of interior styles.
