I Am A Show Girl

Many, many, many years ago I was born on 'Show Day' a brilliant Victorian Public Holiday to celebrate the
Royal Melbourne Show.
This holiday was later taken away from me by Mr. Jeff Kennet, an action which I took quite personally.
So this year my mother shouted myself, my husband & my kids to the Royal Melbourne Show on the opening weekend & I have to say that it is still as exciting as it was many, many years ago.
Show bags, laughing clowns, amazing rides, baby farm animals...
The only thing that I found different was that I was extremely nervous on the Ferris Wheel & needed to stick my head in the show grounds map so I didn't freak out in front of the kids.

They come in a nice canvas draw string bag.

Flag Day

One of my favourite wallpapers which is always overlooked on my website is Harlequins 'Flag Day'.
Then I see a picture like this and I realise it is such a happy wallpaper, great for kids and very under-rated.

Burger makes a Monster Mash

Colour-In Wallpapers designed by Burger are quirky & fun.
There are two great designs: "Burgerdoodles" and recently released "Mash"

The paper is perfect for felt tip pens and paints and great fun for kids (and adults - as it has kept me very amused)
The paper is made from thick, heavy weight paper
& comes in 10m x 52cm wide rolls.

They look great just as they are or coloured in by a budding artist.

Both are available at Just Kids Wallpaper

Origami for kids

The Japanese word "origami" is a compound of two smaller Japanese words: "ori", meaning to fold, and "kami", meaning paper.

The founder of Kindergartens, Friedrich Fröbel, recognised that paper cutting and folding was a good teaching aid for childrens development in the early 19th century.
As the kindergarten system spread throughout Europe and into the wider world, it brought with it the small colored squares that we know of today as origami paper.
Now Ingvi and Tinna from Dottir & Sonur have designed this delightfully bright & mildly retro wallpaper
celebrating the age-old craft.

available from Just Kids Wallpaper

The Origami Club has a huge selection of Origami instructions which you can print out to keep your little one (and yourself) entertained for hours.
Here are a couple...

Both these diagrams are from the Origami Club
